Unsubscribe help

You can have our sign-in code emails to your address turned off. This page says how, what that stops, and how to get codes back if you change your mind.

How to stop the emails

Reply to one of our emails and say that you want them to stop, or write to privacy@authorize-path.com from the address the codes go to. A person turns off sign-in code emails to that address and replies to confirm, usually within a day. There is nothing to fill in and no account to sign in to.

Why there is no unsubscribe link

Our emails carry no unsubscribe link and no unsubscribe header. Each one is a message that was asked for at a sign-in screen, not a subscription, so the usual controls would promise the wrong thing. A reply does the job, and a reply from the address itself shows that the request comes from its owner.

What stops

Sign-in code emails to that address, from every one of our sign-in senders, not only the one whose email you have. It takes effect as soon as it is recorded. From then on you cannot sign in by email on any member site until codes are turned back on.

Getting codes back

On a member site’s sign-in screen, enter the address as usual. The screen tells you that sign-in emails are turned off for it and offers Send me a code anyway. Choose that, and codes are on again for the address. Or write to privacy@authorize-path.com from the same address and ask for them back.

Turning codes back on does only that. Asking for a code is consent to that one code and to nothing else.

Reporting our email as spam

When you report one of our emails as spam, your mail provider may pass that on to us. We then stop emailing that address for good, and there is no way to turn it back on: not from the sign-in screen, and not by writing to us. If what you want is for the emails to stop, reply to the email or write to privacy@authorize-path.com instead. That can be undone; a spam report cannot.

Why there is no form here

We cannot unsubscribe an address typed into a form on this page, because that would let anyone stop anyone’s codes. An email sent from the address is the proof we need that its owner is asking. So this page has no form.

If you don’t hear back

Write to hello@authorize-path.com and a person will look into it.

What we keep

An unsubscribe is recorded by email address, with its dates, so that every one of our senders can honor it. We keep these records rather than delete them, so that the stop keeps holding. Privacy says exactly what a record holds.
