Why did I get this email?
An email from Accounts <login@authorize-path.com> with the subject Your one-time sign-in code came from us. Inside it is a six-digit code that someone, most likely you, asked for at a member site’s sign-in screen.

It is a code to type, not a link to follow. Our email asks for nothing: no password, no attachment, no page to visit. You enter the code on the screen where you asked for it, and that is the end of it.
Why you got one
Your email address was entered on a member site’s sign-in screen, and a code was requested for it. Most of the time that was you, perhaps on a phone that hadn’t signed in before, or in a browser that had forgotten you. Once in a while someone mistypes their own address, and their code arrives in your mailbox instead.
A code is sent only when it is asked for. There is no mailing list behind this address, no schedule, and no other message that comes from it.
Didn’t ask for a code?
Leave the email alone. Nobody can sign in without the code, and it is short-lived. An unexpected code doesn’t mean someone has reached your account: it means someone typed your address on a sign-in screen, and with the code in your mailbox rather than theirs, they are stuck there. If codes keep coming, you can stop them.
How to stop them
Reply to the email and say so, or write to privacy@authorize-path.com from the address the codes go to. A person turns off sign-in code emails to that address, from every one of our sign-in senders. Our email carries no unsubscribe link and no unsubscribe header: it is a message you asked for, not a subscription, so a reply is the way. Unsubscribe help has the details, and how to get codes back.
Reporting our email as spam
When you report one of our emails as spam, your mail provider may pass that on to us. We then stop emailing that address for good, and there is no way to turn it back on: not from the sign-in screen, and not by writing to us. If what you want is for the emails to stop, reply to the email or write to privacy@authorize-path.com instead. That can be undone; a spam report cannot.
Staying safe
- We never ask for your code. Nobody from Authorized Path Forward will email, call or message you for it, and no real sign-in screen needs you to send it to anyone. If someone asks, keep it to yourself and tell us at abuse@authorize-path.com.
- Nobody can sign in without it. The code is the key. The person who asked for it cannot go on without it, and it landed with you, not with them.
- Codes are short-lived. The email asks you to use yours within 10 minutes, and an old code is of no use to anyone.
- Check the sender. Our address is exactly login@authorize-path.com, our name is Accounts, and our subject is “Your one-time sign-in code”. An email that asks for a password, carries an attachment, or wants you to click through to “verify” something is not ours. Forward it to abuse@authorize-path.com.
